Murder of the officer in Maliq/ New details, names and circumstances of the incident revealed

New details have emerged regarding this morning's serious incident in Lozhan, Maliqi, where during a police operation, an officer was shot dead, while the perpetrator and another officer were injured.

It is learned that the author, Violand Baçellari, is a wanted person after being sentenced to 9 years in prison for drug cultivation and other criminal offenses.

According to official sources, as soon as the wanted citizen saw the police forces that were surrounding him, to arrest him according to the plan of measures, he immediately shot in their direction. 

The victim was the member of the "Eagle" forces, Enea Mekolli.

Another officer, Edison Adri, an Eagles officer who is receiving treatment at Korça Hospital, was wounded by a bullet but his condition is not yet known. The injured officer is expected to be flown to Tirana by helicopter due to his health condition./CNA
