I saw somewhere a preoccupation, probably sincere, for some manuscript that might have remained of the late Kadare; and now I want to decide how to handle it. Such legacies are of great value to philologists, biographers and all the more to publishers, who already profit economically by selling "new" material of otherwise successful writers to naive people and collectors. As for the reader, given the shelf with dozens and dozens of Kadare's works in the bookstore, his preoccupation cannot be new and unpublished, but published and UNREAD; sometimes even read and forgotten.

Cultural and literary institutions in Albania have the burden to maintain this current heritage and find ways to attract new readers there; all without revitalizing the existing readership: will they fail again this time, as they usually do? For writers who have had the time and good fortune to take care of their work over the years, experience shows that unpublished manuscripts are usually not up to the standard of published work—the latter, therefore, remain unpublished. . Kadareja and his reader do not need "new works", but - in the most extreme case - for new readings of existing classical texts. If the culture serves this heritage well and does not waste time and funds with gossip and gossip, even the publishing institutions will have no reason to obsess over literary "discoveries".
