The second edition of "Varg Fest"/ Young people and lovers of poetry gather in Pogradec

In the city of Pogradec, "Varg Fest" returns for the second time, a festival that focuses on young poets. This opening of the second edition of the festival has brought together these young poets, as well as lovers of poetry, in the square where the statues of the two great giants of Albanian literature, Mitrush Kuteli and Lasgush Poradeci, have been placed.

A very beautiful evening under the recitations and melodious voices that gave special emotions to the public, with various Albanian poems, but with the focus on the works of the great Lasgush Poradeci.

Anxhela Pashaj, part of the National Book and Reading Center, has shown the great importance of this festival, which is dedicated to poetry, and in particular to Albanian authors.

"This is the second year that we do 'Varg Festival', we started it first in the city of Pogradec, we will continue in other cities as well. It is a festival dedicated to poetry, Albanian poetry in particular and Albanian authors. Of course, they are not excluded. even the cases where we can have authors of prose, but at the moment we are only with poetry", she said.

Pashaj shows the reason why the city of Pogradec was chosen for the opening of this festival, bringing to attention the honoring of the great Lasgush. She says that the festival will continue in other cities of Albania, in order to promote as much as possible the most prominent poets and authors of our country.

"Because this year is also the year of Lasgush Poradec and in his honor we want to make it complete, why not in the city about which he wrote the most", she said.

For the young poet from the city of Elbasan, Ersid Karaj, participating in a literary activity in Pogradec is the first time, while it shows that he has a very close connection with the city because of the wonderful verses left behind by Lasgush Poradeci.

"For me, it is the first time that I come to Pogradec for a literary activity, I have always had a very close relationship with Pogradec because in the verses of Lasguš I have always had this city with me, with its wonderful books and poems. There is nothing better than starting a line of literature in this city. It is a special city, I reread Lasgush Poradec with his lines about the lake, about love, the impressions he had about this city, about man as a whole the city is lucky to have and has this poet because poets never die, their book, their verse, their poetry remains forever," he said.

As for the young people who love poetry, Ersidi says that there are many but they are under the shadow, and for this reason a manifestation should be made to bring these young people as close as possible to art and literature.

"I think that, like me, there are a lot of young people who write and read, but are in the shadows. We noticed in this activity two young teenagers who read with a very beautiful voice, and I think that we should be the first to make a manifestation that we should bring these young people as close as possible to art and literature. We should not group for protests or party votes, but we should keep the reader and the person as close as possible," he said.

"Varg Fest" will take place for two consecutive days in the lake city, where old and young poets will come together to interpret some of the most beautiful verses. Lovers of literature will have the opportunity to get pleasure and special emotions from the interpretations of poets, and especially from young people, who have taken the right path towards literature and art./ CNA
