Turkey has been proposed as a possible location for a meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia, as a way to discuss the war that has now entered its fourth year.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to meet with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in any capital except Moscow and Minsk.
"We are also pushing forward a diplomatic meeting between President Zelensky and Putin to gain a new dynamic. We asked Turkey to put pressure on this, and we also asked some other capitals. But if another capital, besides Moscow and Belarus, organizes such a meeting, we will go. And for us, this is important," Sibiga stressed in a statement.
Earlier, Sibiga stated in an interview that Ukraine seeks to end the war and that Zelensky is ready to meet with Putin. Regarding the possibility of such a meeting, including with the participation of Trump and Erdogan, Ukraine has approached Turkey./CNA
