International Atomic Energy Agency: No anomalies at Japan's nuclear

The International Atomic Energy Agency has announced that Japan's nuclear facilities have not suffered any disruptions due to the earthquake that was recorded on the island yesterday.

In a post on the 'X' platform, the agency stated that it had been informed by Japan that as of 8:16 UTC there had been no anomalies at its nuclear facilities in the affected regions following the warning of a 7.7 magnitude earthquake and tsunami.

Meanwhile, Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara also confirmed that there was no emergency situation at the nuclear power plant (NPP) or other nuclear facilities due to the earthquake and possible tsunami. /CNA
