Trump: I hope the Iran deal will be signed 'today' in Islamabad

United States President Donald Trump said in an interview with Fox News journalist Maria Bartiromo that he hopes a deal with Iran can be signed "today" in Islamabad, Pakistan, raising expectations for a new diplomatic development between the two countries.

According to Trump, if a deal is not reached, the US will take tough action against Iran, including attacks on its strategic infrastructure. His statements have sparked reactions due to their strong tone and lack of official confirmation from other parties.

However, Iran has neither confirmed the existence of an agreement nor sent a delegation to Islamabad. Sources quoted by international media have said that Tehran may be open to a second round of talks, but without making a final decision yet.

According to reports, US representatives, including Vice President JD Vance and envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are expected to travel to Pakistan for new negotiations.

Islamabad has previously served as a meeting place for high-level talks between the US and Iran, including a previous round in April, which ended without concrete progress.

Meanwhile, the situation remains unclear, as neither Iran nor the US have yet given an official confirmation of the signing of a new agreement./ CNA
