Trump's Gaza plan: Hamas agrees to release all Israeli hostages

Hamas has welcomed efforts by US President Donald Trump, along with Arab, Islamic and international actors, to stop the war, provide humanitarian aid, oppose the occupation and prevent forced displacement.

The group said it is prepared to release all Israeli prisoners, alive or dead, under the exchange formula proposed by Trump, once conditions on the ground are met, signaling readiness for urgent negotiations.

Hamas also agreed to hand over the administration of Gaza to a Palestinian technocratic authority based on national consensus and Arab/Islamic support.

On other issues in Trump's plan, including the future of Gaza and Palestinian rights, Hamas stressed that broader national consensus and an international legal framework are required.

The statement comes after a tough ultimatum from President Trump, who set a deadline of 6 p.m. Sunday in Washington for Hamas to accept a ceasefire deal with Israel.

The White House has yet to clarify the full terms of the agreement or which countries have officially signed it, and it remains unclear whether Israel has approved the deal. The talks, brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the United States, have repeatedly stalled due to ongoing Israeli operations in southern Gaza. /CNA
