Manchester terror attack: Starmer: Jewish buildings require 24-hour protection

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke after an emergency meeting with the Cobra committee in Downing Street, regarding the terrorist attack that occurred in Manchester.  

He said that today "an evil individual carried out a terrorist attack."

Starmer said the author attacked Jews because they are Jews and attacked Britain because of its values.

The British Prime Minister stated that Jewish buildings in Britain require 24-hour protection and additional security is needed.

Starmer addressed the Jewish community, telling them that Britain is a place where they can feel safe.

The Prime Minister stated that this is not a new hatred, but a hatred that is resurfacing and Britain must defeat it.

“ Britain is a country that has welcomed Jewish communities and provided shelter and homes. But Britain is also a country where Jewish buildings require 24-hour protection and specialist security is necessary because of the daily threat of anti-Semitic hatred.

"We will come together to support your community. We will show you that Britain is a place where you and your family can be safe and have a place to belong ," Starmer said./CNA
