The Ministry of Economy announced on Monday afternoon that the citizens of Kosovo will be supplied with electricity without interruption.

Through a post on Facebook, the ministry said that the announced reductions were avoided after the cooperation with Albania.

The ministry has also announced other collaborations "to address the energy crisis".

The Government of Kosovo has also confirmed the regular electricity supply.

In the late hours of Sunday, the Kosovo Electricity Distribution Company (KEDS) announced that the citizens of Kosovo would face reductions from August 15.

Reduktimet, sipas KEDS-it, do të nisnin nga ora 08:00 sipas organizimit: gjashtë orë me rrymë dhe dy pa të.

KEDS-i e ka arsyetuar këtë vendim me çmimet e larta për blerje të rrymës në tregjet ndërkombëtare.

Më 9 gusht KEDS-i ka kërkuar nga Zyra e Rregullatorit për Energji (ZRRE) të shtrenjtojë tarifat e rrymës.

Muajin e kaluar, KEDS po ashtu ka paralajmëruar një dimër “shumë të pasigurt” për shkak të krizës energjetike që ka prekur Evropën.

Edhe vitin e kaluar, Kosova është prekur nga kriza energjetike, andaj konsumatorët janë përballur me reduktime dhe shtrenjtim të tarifave.

Dy termocentralet në Obiliq, Kosova A dhe B mund të prodhojnë energji deri në 800 megavat në orë, kurse nevojat e konsumatorëve, gjatë dimrit, arrijnë deri në 1.300 megavat në orë.
