A serious accident that occurred this Wednesday with the collapse of a concrete mixer in the TEG area seems to have brought attention back to the guidelines for the circulation of these vehicles.

Based on the instructions published by the State Police, during the summer season, there are special restrictions on heavy-duty vehicles on the country's main roads, with the aim of easing traffic and increasing road safety during periods of high traffic flow.

The implementation period is from June 19 to September 15 and includes weekends and official holidays.

During this period, traffic restrictions apply according to the following schedules:

-on Friday from 15:00 to 24:00;
-on Saturday, from 07:00 to 24:00;
-on Sunday, from 07:00 to 24:00.
For official holidays, the restrictions begin from 15:00 of the previous day until 22:00 and continue from 07:00 to 24:00 of the holiday day.

Although the accident that occurred this Wednesday may be an exception to the above restrictions, concerns are once again raised about the safety and risk that citizens and vehicle drivers face while traveling in the same lane with heavy-duty vehicles, which can have major consequences, including taking human lives.
