A killer's "fandom"

The murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja is one of the most shocking, most criminal events. A terrorist act committed inside the court, in cold blood, where the murderer Elvis Shkambi goes into the courtroom, waits for the verdict and shoots the judge and other people. He goes out to the door of the Court of Appeal and waits for the police to come and arrest him.

In fact, first of all, the security of our courts has declined. The police announced that the detective had seized the weapon, but the person responsible for security did not exercise control.

But the judge lost his life, the person remained calm. The battle he and his family are fighting over is a property.

"A property" which we put in quotes because it is still unknown whether it is his or not. How a property in Shkodra fell into the hands of a man from Dukagjini, which has a history, which we will explain below.

What has happened and what is most painful are the "fans" of the murderer. Fans of a man who committed a terrorist act and killed a judge inside a courtroom, in 2025.

There are hundreds and thousands of families of owners or former owners in Albania who were never able to get their properties back, but they did not go and kill judges. They have worked hard in the streets, in the courts, in the Court of Appeal, in the Supreme Court, when their land titles were preserved even by the dictator Enver Hoxha, and the Turks had kept them for hundreds of years.

A simple legal act in '92 was enough to register their properties. The land was there, Albania had been reclaimed, hundreds of thousands of additional hectares of land had been acquired. But it was not given to them.

The murderer was probably a child or not even born when the property story in Shkodra began. According to data, now well-confirmed, his family privatized a property, a state-owned facility, where 31 families were sheltered, who had to leave because this gentleman had privatized it.

Hysteria erupted, fans erupted: "Corrupt justice", "unjust justice", "we haven't been given our properties", "this is how injustices have been done to us".

A simple question arises: What is the connection between the properties and the former owners in this specific case? Why was it given to this one and not to the 31 families?

For those who want to know the truth, one right prevails above all, that those 31 families should have been sheltered by the state, so that the person who had bought it could take the property. Or the state should have expropriated the person who had bought it. Or the state should not have given it to this person at all, but not to go and kill a judge and then have the "fans" explode over their troubles.

Or another crazy person who went online and said he had been convicted. Yes, the court definitely convicts. That's the job of judges, to convict or acquit, based on the accusations brought by prosecutors. What should a judge do when prosecutors have facts and evidence? Should they let you go free?!

What should the judge do when he sees you with forged documents and when he sees that there are 31 families there and the state made the mistake? Should he give you that property or return it to the state?

The state was the real owner that built that property where 31 families live.

How can "fans", owners and former owners, old or young, become ultras of a murderer?

This is a second bloodbath. Because the problem does not begin with yesterday's judge, nor with the bullet of that murderer who will remain in prison. He destroyed his life, his family's, he took another life, he did not enjoy his property, nor anything.

Self-righteousness and that extreme act provide no solution, they simply have consequences.

The problem starts with what CNA has said in 2-3 articles in a row, the owners should have had their properties returned. There were 1001 possible solutions. There was free land, there was a possibility of compensation.

They did well in prisons, the state took their properties and used them for 50 years, but they never returned them. There were endless possibilities. Shops and buildings were built, of course the apartment owners would be co-owners there and would benefit from their property.

This is not discussed, but the shops below couldn't be returned to their owners?! Instead, they were given to those who were spies for the former State Security and today have become millionaires.

Whereas the former owners may have been left without bread somewhere or the heirs of those who had bought these properties with gold may have passed away. The state is to blame for this, with those property restitution commissions, those corrupt court decisions, of course.

But in no case have those who were the true owners, those who had properties acquired with sweat, with labor, with gold once, and with trade later, taken up arms to kill the judge. Good or bad, the decision of justice is not discussed.

You can't move forward with self-justification, murder, and becoming a fan or ultra of a terrorist inside a courtroom.

What do you gain? Will your property be returned to you? Or will your child and your family suffer from more injustice tomorrow?

Because that bullet that was fired at the judge for a property with many doubts about how it was alienated, because it did not belong to the true owner, but was purchased by the Albanian state with the fall of communism and the advent of democracy, can come to your door, because the one who kills the judge, who delivers justice, will come tomorrow to take the property by putting a bullet in your head.

It happened in Durrës, we have seen them in the famous events with Shullazi, in the stories of gangs and criminal groups in Albania, we saw them now with Rrumi i Shijakut, they are with documents and facts, the prosecution has them.

It's no wonder that tomorrow someone will go to someone's house with a gun to take their property away, threatening to kill them.

Albanians have given up their wealth for Albania, no longer taking up arms and going to kill the judge for alienated properties that are not theirs at all.

While the former owners who had bought them with gold and washed them with blood were called former owners, those who had washed them with the blood of suffering under communism could never become true owners and never, even though they lost much of their ancestors' wealth, did they take up arms to kill a judge.

All of this comes from the spirit raised above justice, which, with all its problems, is attacked and anathemaed by all political sides, who are the real causes of the tragedy and murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja in the Court of Appeals hall.

It is politics in 35 years that made a mess of the property issue with laws that were not laws , more or less implementing the famous Katowice, and now it is politics that attacks justice and gives breath to crime to strike.

The only responsibility is politics, which never returned properties, did not make a precise law on properties, did not support citizens for properties, even those who privatized state properties, but always created problems and now, by attacking justice, with actions and inactions, politics is the second killer of Judge Astrit Kalaja.

But the biggest killer, beyond politics, are the hordes of fans and ultras who support a murderer, and these are actually ultras and fans of dirty politics who go and vote and cannot give her the answer she deserves, but unfortunately they go and turn into a criminal's fan group./ CNA
