In the investigative commission for the incinerators held about 1 year ago, specifically on February 22, 2022, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, denied knowing the "heads" of the incinerators, Mirel Mërtir and Klodian Zoto.

Veliaj said that he knows Mërtir and Zoto only through photographs and news in the media about the trips with Gert Bogdani of the Democratic Party.

" I have seen Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtir in photographs with Gert Bogdan, who at that time was the head of foreign relations in the DP. I have not made any trips, but I have been informed by protals and from about their trip to Zimbabwe with Democratic Party officials. I have not made any trips or communications. As I said, I am only known by the media about the trips of these characters with the head of foreign relations of the DP in Zimbabwe. So, if this is called acquaintance, I only know them through the media for the DP official's trip for the contract in Zimbabwe" , said the mayor of Tirana at the time.

However, this Friday several messages and photos were published that reveal the deception of the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The messages and photos were discovered by the group of experts of the Democratic Party and were released by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha during the weekly conference with journalists.

In the photo, Veliaj can be seen next to Giuseppe Ciaffaglione, one of the main shareholders of the Tirana incinerator, which does not exist even though 110 million euros were paid.

The photo is dated September 28, 2019, and the mayor of Tirana, together with Ciaffaglione, inaugurated nursery school No. 34 in Kombinat, financed by the people of the incinerators.

Meanwhile, the messages show the communications between the people of the incinerators, Mirel Mërtiri and Klodian Zotos, who seem to have been disappointed by Veliaj, since the latter had hidden their financing and had sold the construction of the nursery as his work.

This photo and these messages clearly show that Veliaj publicly lied to Albanians. Although the mayor of Tirana said that in 2022 he does not know the people of the incinerators, it is proven that he has known them since 2019.

Once again, the mayor Veliaj appears in the scheme of the 110 million euro affair in the incinerator of Tirana.
