Protesters' request to limit the Prime Minister's mandate/ Berisha: DP

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the Democratic Party unreservedly supports the demands presented by Dritan Goxhaj, starting with the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

According to Berisha, the DP also supports the proposal to limit the prime minister's term to two terms. He said that the Democrats are ready to vote for such a measure in Parliament and call on citizens to support it.

Berisha accused Rama of not allowing the rotation of power, emphasizing that, according to him, this is proven by international documents.

The opposition leader argued that eight years are sufficient for the implementation of a government program, at least in its most important points and to the extent of 80-90 percent.

Further, Berisha stated that Rama remains in power through what he described as an electoral farce, while adding that the protesters intend to respond to this situation through constitutional instruments.

"The demands presented by Goxhaj reiterate the immediate resignation of Rama, a demand that we strongly support without reservation and we have the same call. The limitation of the prime minister's mandate to two terms is added, the DP agrees, is ready to vote in parliament and call on citizens to vote for such a measure. Rama does not allow the rotation of power. We do not say this, but international documents do.
