Clashes continue at the Vlora airport construction site / Police intervention is

Tensions continue at the Vlora airport construction site. For the third day in a row, clashes and confrontations have been recorded between employees of the Mabco company and 2A Group.

Today, Behgjet Pacolli's brother, Emin Pacolli, is also at the Vlora airport construction site. The latter has requested the intervention of the State Police to resolve the situation and allow work to begin at the airport.

"You came here today, can't you open the road? Allow access so we can do our jobs. They block us here, for what reason? We left us. You see the trucks blocking the entrance, why don't you react? Should I take out my weapons and kill myself with them? Last time you told us it's a village road and you shouldn't block it. Now why is the road blocked?" he is reported to have said.

Meanwhile, businessman Behgjet Pacolli has reacted again regarding the tensions, stating that groups linked to Valon Ademi have blocked the entrances to Vlora airport and have impeded the free movement of employees.

Full post:

How is it possible for a private group, acting in violation of the law, to block a public road without any legal basis, with self-justification and under the protection of state institutions?

Albanian and international media have been reporting for days on this ugly reality that is taking place at the entrance to the Vlora International Airport area.

This is happening in the Republic of Albania!!!

For months, illegal groups linked to Valon Ademi, supported by State Police forces, have blocked access to and even the public road leading to the airport entrance, impeding the free movement of employees, depriving them of their constitutional right to work and interfering with the possession and use of their work tools and equipment.

This is an extremely dangerous precedent for the rule of law and raises serious questions about the role of public institutions, which have a legal obligation to guarantee order, legality and the rights of citizens, and not to tolerate or support arbitrary and illegal actions.

The public deserves to know the truth:

* Who is behind this illegal and ugly act?

• Who authorized this blockade?

• On what legal basis is a public road blocked?

• Who is responsible for obstructing the normal activity of a project of national importance?

• Who is instigating the conflict and who benefits from escalating this situation?

• Who is encouraging private groups to take over functions that belong only to the state and its institutions?

• Who is deliberately obstructing the completion and opening of Vlora International Airport and for what interests?

We, in an ALARMING and HUMANE manner, call on the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), as well as all competent institutions, to immediately START investigations into this alarming situation.

This is not simply a commercial or contractual dispute. This is a matter of the rule of law, legal certainty, the functioning of state institutions, and the protection of the public interest.

No one should be above the law and no one should be allowed to replace the state with self-justification. / CNA
