The Albanian judiciary is being openly blackmailed, and even threatened, publicly by Erion Veliaj's lobbying lawyers.

Days ago, it was Plarent Ndreca, who published a letter, a press release, talking about washing hands like Pontius Pilate, about "hot potatoes", about people who would at some point be held accountable for the decisions they would make.

A total open threat to judges and prosecutors, made by lawyer Ndreca, who is actually a defendant by SPAK in connection with the issue of the investment of police stations by the Ministry of Interior during his time as Secretary General.

Yesterday, the American law firm and lobbyist, "Kasowitz LLP", published a letter.

A letter asking representatives of international institutions to be present on May 8, at the trial taking place at the Administrative Court, requested by Erion Veliaj against prosecutor Ols Dado.

Shameful, scandalous, blackmail, open threat.

What business does an American law firm have calling on international organizations to participate in a court in Albania in an administrative case regarding a presidential decision?

Are these the same lobbyists who went to congresses and senates and issued reports saying that Ols Dado is a DP activist?

Or by telling us that he requested a building permit for an addition and it was not granted by Erion Veliaj, a permit that we requested they publish, but they never issued at any time.

Justice is being threatened, blackmailed.

American lobbying law firms publish a report a day or two before a trial.

Who needs these reports? Why are they published in the media?

If he has to defend himself, Erion Veliaj should go to the Criminal Court, face SPAK prosecutors, and if Erion Veliaj is innocent, let the trial take place and let him go home.

But these people don't want it, neither Plarent Ndreca, nor the lobbyists and lawyers of the US. They simply want to exert pressure, open blackmail against justice. This is shown by their actions.

The publications of letters, reports, a day or two before the trials, the calls to participate in administrative trials or the threats made by Plarent Ndreca, are nothing more nor less than simply and openly blackmailing justice, a threat to it that is made intentionally.

It is no coincidence that the letters are published a day or two before the hearings. It is no coincidence that Plarent Ndreca makes publications with threats.

Nothing is accidental. These are pressures that come not simply and only for the trial on May 8 at the Administrative Court, but as continuous pressure on justice at all its levels./ CNA
