The Tirana Prosecution Office has completed the investigations and sent for trial a Lebanese citizen, Fadi Alwan, suspected of the murder of his 24-year-old daughter, Rayyan Alwan.

According to the indictment, he will face the criminal offense of "murder under qualifying circumstances", which provides for a maximum sentence of up to life imprisonment.

The serious incident occurred on February 22, 2025 in a rented apartment in Tirana, where the young woman was found without signs of life.

Investigations later led authorities to her father as the suspected perpetrator of the crime.

Forensic examination showed that the victim suffered several stab wounds to various parts of the body, wounds that proved fatal.

After the incident, the suspect fled Albania, but was located and arrested in Lebanon in April 2025, following international police cooperation.

According to investigations, the crime is suspected to have family motives, related to conflicts over the girl's lifestyle and pressures within the family, while the case has also attracted attention due to the inclusion of a story related to her life in Germany.

The case is now expected to be heard in court, where the prosecution will present evidence against the defendant./ CNA
