Grida Duma’s shadows/ From debts, connection with Santo, “surrender” in Tahiri’s office to the erotic video scandal

Albanian politics has produced many figures, including those with the shadows of scandals. Among the political figures involved in many scandals is the Democratic Party MP, Grida Duma. Duma is a complex character, with many scandals and untold stories, which everywhere in the world would like to know by everyone, especially the voters.

But what are the shadows of the scandals that have accompanied Grida Duma? Her story in the Democratic Party begins in 2011, when she became Deputy Minister of Integration, stuck in debt, and with blocked bank accounts. Her appointment was made with the support of Henri Çili, the owner of the European University of Tirana, at that time very close to Lulzim Basha and the DP, but also sponsored by a well-known banker Artan Santo.

So Duma was mired in debt, and the prosecution had launched an investigation. Then she became embroiled in another scandal. She was accused of being part of a construction firm that, together with her partner, had sold the apartments 2-3 times. So the bank had blocked his accounts, and asked the Ministry of Finance to block her salary as well.

After 2013, advised by Henri Çili, but also supported by banker Santo, Grida Duma changes her look, and often began to appears in the media in defense of Sali Berisha, raising her image as a democrat. Let us dwell on the shadows of her relationship with Artan Santo, the late former banker, executed in the middle of Tirana in 2014.

Grida Duma has never spoken in public about the case of Artan Santo, and what she talked about with former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri in the latter?s office. Duma has been very close to Santo. The two were seen in each other?s company and were photographed together.

Furthermore, it is said that Artan Santos?s last phone call was with Grida Duma. And after the assassination of Santo, Duma first went to the Prime Minister and then stayed for almost 3 hours in the office of former Interior Minister Saimir Tahiri. The latter has never explained the reason why Grida Duma ?surrendered? to his office that day.

But despite this episode, Duma?s career continues to climb. In 2015, under the DP logo, she ran for mayor of Durres, registering a catastrophic result, with about 15.000 votes less, which the Democratic Party had not registered even in 1997.

In 2017, with the famous lists of Lulzim Basha, where the DP registered a catastrophic result, with about 230.000 votes less than the day he came out in opposition in 2013, Duma becomes a member of the Albanian Parliament. Further in 2018, she was involved in another scandal, that of the erotic video-scandal with the deputy Ervin Salianji.

The video was first published in February 2018 by CNA.al. In that video, Salianji was exchanging perverse messages on the phone with Grida Duma during a parliamentary session. Duma has so far remained silent on that scandal, as it tends to pass quietly any scandal related to her name.

In 2019, she supported the political ?madness? of Lulzim Basha, to burn the mandates of deputies, which brought catastrophic consequences for the Democratic Party. Then she supported the next madness, to boycott the local elections of June 30, 2019, where Lulzim Basha handed over 61 municipalities to the table to Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In the 2021 general elections, Grida Duma recorded an embarrassing result in Kavaja, which has historically been considered a DP stronghold. DP received 10.115 votes in the Municipality of Kavaja, compared to SP with 10.338 votes. So the DP scored losses in its stronghold.

Despite the defeat, Grida Duma came out again in support of Lulzim Basha. On September 9, 2021, Lulzim Basha, alone and without consulting the party structures, expelled from the parliamentary group, the former Prime Minister and historical leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha.

Duma again sided with Lulzim Basha. At the January 8, 2022, protest, where democrats were beaten, Grida Duma was with police and Basha. On March 6, took place the local elections, where Lulzim Basha?s party lost shamefully. He couldn?t take any municipality, and was listed as the third political force.

A day later, the Duma lined up against Basha, and asked him to take responsibility for the loss and resign. Further, playing the role of ?Cinderella?, she came out with another public stance and said that she would resign as deputy chairman of the Democratic Party.

But the pear has its tail back, and Duma?s stance is not as ?principal;? as she seeks to sell it to the public. Everything seems to be done simply to take the lead of the DP. So, Grida Duma intends to run for chairwoman of the Democratic Party. A scandalous woman, accompanied by numerous scandals, now aims to complete the mission of Lulzim Basha for the complete destruction of Democratic Party/CNA.al
