Basha and Rama are trying to “amnesty” the incinerators /The unspoken facts on the Commission of Inquiry, 3 deputies in conflict of interest

22 Shkurt 2022, 15:15, English CNA

The concessionaire of incinerators, among the most accused in Albania, also called the corrupt affair of the century, seems to be trying to be amnestied through a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry, requested by Lulzim Basha.

It is about an affair, where only the concession contracts amount to 178 million euros, while according to a report of the Supreme State Audit, the real value goes to about 430 million euros. But, while the case is already under investigation by SPAK and the media, including CNA.al, who have denounced this affair with facts and documents, Lulzim Basha enters in the ?game?, deliberately to steal this cause in order to fail it.

This is clearly seen with the so-called Commission of Inquiry on the incinerator scandal, which is headed by Lulzim Basha?s confidant, Jorida Tabaku. From what is happening in the Commission of Inquiry, it is clear that Lulzim Basha and Edi Rama are seeking to ?amnesty? this affair.

But what is happening? Three of Lulzim Basha?s deputies in the Commission of Inquiry for incinerators are in open conflict of interest. First, the chairwoman of this commission, Jorida Tabaku is in open conflict of interest, as her family members have obtained a construction permit from the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

Veliaj himself said today in a hearing that Tabaku is in a conflict of interest. ?I gave you a construction permit, you are in a conflict of interest?- said Veliaj to Tabaku. On the other hand, through documents CNA.al has revealed two construction permits issued by Veliaj, where the beneficiaries are relatives of MP Tabaku.

So, Tabaku investigates Veliaj, while the latter ?rewards? her with a construction permit, where the beneficiaries are her family. Another MP, part of this Commission is Lefter Gështenja. Again in conflict of interest. This is because Gështenja has been a director in one of the largest construction companies in Tirana.

Further, in conflict of interest is another member of this commission. It is about Fadil Nasufi, former mayor of Berat, today a MP of the Socialist Party. Nasufi is the person who has signed a contract, where the beneficiary is Klodian Zoto.

It all started around October 2013, where Klodian Zoto, head of ITS company, won the tender from the Municipality of Berat for equipping the city with intelligent water meters. For this reason Zoto received a loan of about 1 million euros from Venetto Banca.

CNA.al has previously published the contract which bears the signature of Fadil Nasufi, who is and the person who has applied for the loan to make the investment in this institution. But the monitoring room, costing 500.000 euros with a computer and three TVs, broke down

after a few weeks, and half of the investment was thrown in the trash. Not to mention the intelligent water meters, some of which are out of function. And now Fadil Nasufi, will investigate Klodian Zoto? /CNA.al
