US $1 million file/ Together with incinerators, SPAK should investigate Lulzim Basha

The dismissed chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, appeared on Sunday in a statement to the media, where he spoke about the issue of incinerators, also described as the corrupt affair of the century. Basha made strong accusations against the government, while asked SPAK to fully investigate and clarify this file.

?Don?t wait for the next minister to resign but arrest him inside the ministry building, don?t wait for the next mayor to resign, but handcuff him in his office. They will have the support of all Albanians. With this affair, has been revealed the biggest corruption affair that steal the future of Albanians?- said Basha.

In fact, he is right. The incinerator affair is an alarm bell, for which justice must move quickly, should clear up this scandal, and the persons involved should end up in jail. But, in addition to the incinerators file, another file for which SPAK ca not close its eyes is that of Lulzim Basha?s lobbying in the US with Russian money hidden in tax havens.

So along with the incinerators file, SPAK should also shed light on the $1 million file of Lulzim Basha, and the payment for a photo with former US President Donald Trump. We recall here that on the eve of the general parliamentary elections of 2017, Lulzim Basha published on social networks a photo with the former US president.

It was reported in the media that Trump?s photo with Basha cost not a little, but about 20.000 dollars. President Trump attended a fundraising evening for a candidate of his party. He took photos with any of the people present there, and who had paid 20.000 dollars.

Basha bought a ticket to participate in that activity and its price is 10.000-20.000 dollars (depending on the position where you will sit). But, the pear has its tail back. Following the publication of the photo with Trump, broke out the scandal of lobbying with money financed by Russian offshore companies.

So the scandal of lobbying with Nick Muzin in the US, where were paid 1 million 25 thousand dollars, about which Lulzim Basha has given 3 different versions in 3 times he spoke. The issue of Lulzim Basha?s lobbying caused a stir in the media.

Regarding these lobbies, there were denunciations from BIRN, Voice of America, New York Times, and made a big noise in Albania. CNA.al went further in the investigation, and in March 2019 published the official documents of the US Department of Justice, where according to statements made by the lobbying company Muzin Capitol LLC registered on 14.11.2017 it turns out that:Russian company Biniatta Trade LP would pay company STONINGTONE STRATEGIES 4 sums of money.

The official document of the US Department of Justice submitted by the lobbying company Lulzim Basha has paid 450.000 dollars in 3 months and the amount of 500.000 dollars, as one special tariffs from the Russian offshore company. So 950.000 dollars.

Plus $75.000 has been paid by the DP, and a total of $1.025.000 has been paid by DP and Lulzim Basha for lobbying in the USA. Therefore, SPAK should investigate the file of incinerators, but cannot close its eyes or ears for the file of Lulzim Basha./CNA.al
