Incinerator affair/ It is revealed where went the millions of euros paid for travel agencies

The incinerator companies owned by Klodian Zoto and Stela Gugallja, have paid millions of euros to various travel agencies within a few years. One of these cases was published by CNA.al a few days ago.

There was also a denunciation on Euronews Albania and later on TV Klan, where exclusive documents were made public by journalist Elvi Fundo and SMI representative Brisida Shehaj, that the company One Explorer was paid about 2 million euros by incinerator companies.

And according to the data that are now official and that are in the hands of SPAK prosecutors, only in a period of 6 months last year, this company was paid about 300 million Lek, where in just one month were paid about 100 million Lek, to which included invoices with services of 30 or 40 million old Lek.

According to the data provided by CNA.al, it turns out that these payments are not fictitious, so they are not just invoices for VAT refunds or invoices with fake signatures, as may have happened commonly with incinerator companies, which are suspected to be involved in VAT fraud schemes or with fictitious payments and false invoices.

Or as was the case with the money that the former Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka, had taken in the form of a bribe. In its investigation, CNA.al has revealed that the ?bosses? of incinerators have incurred dizzying expenses for a luxurious life.

We are talking about charter planes, private flights, financed by incinerator companies, but also luxury hotels, helicopters, yachts, all these services provided by travel agencies in Albania. So we are not dealing with a case where several million euros are billed to be put in the pockets, as may have happened in other companies.

But, this time millions of euros have served to provide a luxurious life for incinerator companies and their close associates. CNA.al has been able to provide data on how have been paid dozens of business class flight tickets, with amounts based on invoices reaching tens of thousands of euros.

Private helicopters, charters and luxury yachts were also rented, in the service of people who ran or owned incinerator companies such as Klodian Zoto, Stela Gugallja and Mirel Mërtiri, the man who was called the ?brain? of this group, and many other political and media figures, who are involved in these dizzying trips and expenses by incinerator companies.

CNA.al will bring further details about the names that have often accompanied these people, but also on other expenses and abuses made by these companies of the incinerator affair, which is now called the affair of the century.

So a group of businessmen who managed to secure 178 million euros in concession contracts from the Albanian government, and in total amount to over 430 million euros. Now the political parties are trying to conflict, to debate about the corruption of incinerators.

In the end they will come up with two reports, one from the majority, which says that the incinerators are built according to the contract, and that the legal procedures have been respected.

And another report from the opposition which claims that there have been abuses, violations of the law, favoritism, that incinerators don?t work, that their costs are high and that somewhere they do not exist at all./CNA.al
