Pavel Podkolzin, një 40-vjeçar rus dhe ish-basketbollist profesionist, ka vendosur rekordin botëror si futbollisti më shtatlartë në histori, me një gjatësi prej 2.26 metrash.

Ai është bërë pjesë e skuadrës amatore Amkal në Moskë, një ekip i themeluar në vitin 2018, shumë i ndjekur në mediat ruse.

Debutimi i tij ndodhi në Kupën e Rusisë ndaj FC Kaluga, ku u vendos edhe rekordi historik. Më parë, rekordi mbahej nga gjermani Jonathan Maß, 24 vjeç, me gjatësi 2.05 metra, që aktivizohej për një ekip amator.

Podkolzin më herët ka luajtur basketboll në nivele të larta, duke arritur deri në NBA me Utah Jazz dhe Dallas Mavericks mes viteve 2004-2006. Pas eksperiencës në SHBA, ai u rikthye në Rusi për të luajtur me Lokomotiv Novosibirsk dhe Khimki, ndërsa ka një periudhë edhe në Itali me Varese.

Me këtë rekord, ai bëhet një figurë unike në futbollin botëror. Historia e tij lidh dy sporte, duke kaluar nga parketi i basketbollit në fushën e futbollit.
