DP requested discussion of the EP report on Albania/ Majority rejects the request

The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has responded to the opposition regarding the opposition's requests for a debate on the European Parliament's draft resolution on Albania.
Balla said that the discussion is scheduled to take place next week and that they cannot turn into jokes about this issue.
The socialist expressed gratitude to the 55 MEPs of the Foreign Policy Committee in the European Parliament who voted for the draft resolution, emphasizing that the document reflects Albania's progress in the European integration process.
The Word of the Lord
Many thanks and gratitude to the 55 MEPs who are members of the Foreign Policy Committee in the European Parliament for this draft resolution, which clearly reflects Albania's progress and advancement on the path to membership in the European Union, which clearly demonstrates Albania's achievements throughout this year when it is reported that I have heard you say this often, but at least refer to the documents as they are.
This is a draft resolution of the European Parliament on the European Commission's report for 2025. Now, so that we don't get too ridiculous within this time frame, the European Parliament will now approve this document itself on June 16 or 17, because the Commission has approved it and the plenary session will approve it, which is why it is called a draft.
Now we are asked to discuss it before the European Parliament approves it. Now don't make fun of us, we are very ready, whenever you want, whenever you want, but we have scheduled next week on May 14, we have the discussion of the Commission's report and the annual report that Albania is preparing, next week.
Now this story about taking this two-minute break here, making the news, saying that we requested a discussion on the report that is the draft resolution of the Foreign Policy Committee, this is not right.
The first one makes us laugh that we will wait for the European Parliament to approve it and I believe, I believe that there will be a delegation from us at the plenary session of the European Parliament on the 16-17, as has been the practice, and in the meantime, on July 7-8, or July 8-9, we will also have the Stabilization and Association Parliamentary Committee, where naturally, together with colleagues from the European Parliament, we will also discuss this document.
But, for Albanians, the draft resolution, passed with 55 votes in favor, 7 against, 7 abstentions on Tuesday... but when you look at it, it is important to maintain institutional seriousness, and institutional seriousness is: we welcome the discussion as soon as this document is approved, because it also requires a kind of institutional practice between institutions. So, Chairman, next week we have the debate on the report.
