Rama: Albania's EU membership through the consolidation of local government

Prime Minister Edi Rama was today at the official launch event of the Eu4Municipalities program.

In his speech, Rama emphasized that the European Union and membership are a blessing for the country, but also a challenge at the local level, as the consolidation of local government is an indispensable part of the future relationship.

"It is related to a project that does not only embody financial support, but a strategic investment of the EU to promote the growth of the capacities of municipalities in the horizon of Albania's membership. Gonzato also said that this program is left with the modernization of local institutions and with the opportunity to increase human capacities through it, which are our most acute problem of this time and the times to come if we do not focus with all our strength on addressing it. The EU and membership are a blessing for Albania, but also a challenge at the local level since the consolidation of local government is an indispensable part of the relations between the EU and a member country", said Rama. /CNA
