The EU Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, was present at the official launch of the EU4Municipalities project in Durrës.

Speaking to the event's guests, Gonzato focused on the integration process in the country, while emphasizing the essential role of cooperation with all municipalities in the country, since, as he emphasized, the journey towards the European Union is not accomplished only in Brussels.

"The project for the municipality is preferred because it places citizens and institutions at the heart of the path towards European integration. This program is tangible and with tangible benefits for local government towards improving the lives of citizens. All EU legislation will be implemented in the municipality and therefore the role of municipalities is important. Cooperation is needed from both directions. Albania's European journey to the EU is not only realized in Brussels, or even in Tirana, but must be implemented in every municipality in Albania", said Gonzato./CNA
