In a session in the Parliament, the Minister of Infrastructure, Enea Karakaçi, spoke about the development projects of the port of Durres and its strategic importance for the region.

According to him, the port is designed not only as an entry and exit point for goods, but also as a connecting node with other countries in the region. Karakaçi emphasized that Corridor VIII is part of the European corridors and that the development of the infrastructure is the result of the government's work.

The Minister said that the Porto Romano project is a long-term investment that takes time and is intended for future generations.

Regarding the tender process, Karakaçi said that it is carried out according to a special law on public procurement. According to him, five international entities have applied, while one of them has passed the final stage, but has withdrawn due to high costs./ CNA
