“Bipartisan Support for Electoral and Territorial Reform”/

The European Union Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, held a meeting today with members of the Democratic Party.

As noted in a statement, the focus of the meeting was on support for Electoral and Territorial Reform.

Gonzato emphasizes that it is essential that Albania adopts sustainable reforms for the benefit of its citizens.

“Today, at the EU Delegation offices, I held an open and frank discussion with the Ambassadors of EU Member States to Albania, as well as with Ms. Jorida Tabaku and Mr. Oerd Bylykbashi from the Democratic Party. We exchanged views on key reforms that require bipartisan support, such as electoral and territorial reform, as well as on democratic participation in Albania’s European integration process.

"A transparent and inclusive legislative process in Parliament, through the active and constructive engagement of all parliamentary groups, as well as meaningful consultations with civil society representatives, are essential for Albania to adopt sustainable reforms for the benefit of its citizens," Gonzato said. /CNA
