Berisha in Parliament: Remove taxes on oil for farmers and public transport

The President of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, took the floor in today's plenary session where he requested that a debate on finding a solution to the oil issue be included on the agenda.

Berisha said that Prime Minister Edi Rama was lying when he said that Europe does not subsidize oil. He stressed that oil subsidies should be restored by law and the tax should be abolished not only for farmers but also for public transport.

"The other issue that this parliament should debate for a solution is the oil issue. Your leader declared that Europe does not subsidize oil. Shameful deception. I challenge every Albanian to find an EU member state that does not subsidize oil for farmers. Germany increased the subsidy this year. Rama has committed a cynical act against about 40% of Albanians who are the part that sacrifices the most for the country's livelihood and prosperity. In every word he chooses a deception. Let's restore the oil subsidy by law and remove every tax not only for farmers but also public transport. Let's make an emergency intervention to subsidize oil. Put this issue in the trash" , said Berisha. /CNA
