"After School" Program/Kumbaro: Teachers' remuneration for extra

The Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, announced today that following the legal changes of March, a new decision of the Council of Ministers supports the extension of the time spent in school, as part of the "After School" program.

For this reason, Kumbaro emphasized that the government has decided to double the honorarium with which lessons outside the compulsory curriculum are rewarded, increasing it to 1,000 lek per hour from the 500 lek that was foreseen, as well as opening the list of collaboration beyond school teachers, with retired teachers, experts and specialists in arts, crafts, and other fields.

"This part of the program must be financially supported, which is why today the Council of Ministers decided to double the fee with which these compulsory extracurricular hours are rewarded to the figure of 10 thousand old lek per hour, for 60 minutes. It was foreseen 5 and we have reached 10. Not only that, but we open the list of collaborators with teachers who are within the school system, who after completing the compulsory hours and perhaps do not have the necessary energy to continue for another two or three hours, but we open this list, now with this decision for teachers who are retired, who are active and want to be part of this program, for various specialists in the arts, music for artisans", - said Kumbaro./CNA
