SP Assembly in Durrës/ Rama: The upcoming elections are political, not local
Prime Minister Edi Rama participated today in the Socialis...

Democratic MP, Oerd Bylykbashi, today accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of collaborating with organized crime that was at the time under the direction of the Municipality of Tirana.
In his speech in the Assembly, Bylykbashi linked the accusations to the main sectors of money laundering, focusing on the numerous constructions and towers in the capital.
According to the democrat, the Albanian government directly profits from all contracts awarded for construction in the country.
"Now there is no one who has not understood this for years in Albania, you understand it too and you know very well that it is one of the main sectors of money laundering, organized crime. A few years ago, if you remember, a case was opened where it was revealed that the Italian 'Ndrangheta had set foot in Albania. It was an operation that in Italy was known as Basso Profilo. Low profile. Because in the concept of the leaders of that organization, part of the 'Ndrangheta, it was to keep a low profile so as not to be seen. And in Albania they had a small shop that sold work clothes, but in fact their projects were too big to be connected to the state or beyond.
In one of the intercepted conversations, it was said that these characters from the mafia organization, which is the largest in the world, the richest, the most dangerous, then, according to the anti-mafia prosecutor Gratteri, comes the Albanian mafia. These characters said, we know, we found one in Tirana who has a couple of permits for high towers, he needs money, he doesn't have it, it seems interesting. So it was very clear, it's about investing and laundering mafia money in the construction system and sector, specifically that of the towers that have filled Tirana.
These towers that you see today, lest we understand that they are like the case of these ports that whoever wants, they come out. If you look, there is a summary, the prime minister must have it in his office, of the projects of the competitions of the center of Tirana from 2005-2007. Yes, you see almost all these towers there. He had a very clear idea of ??what he would do. And it is no wonder that in Albania, even when he was mayor, he had cooperation with organized crime, but not at this level that it is today. Because today we are talking about completely different levels, we are talking about cartels. In Durrës there is the largest cocaine cartel in the region. It has reduced the price of cocaine. In Elbasan there is one of the most powerful heroin cartels. And on and on. Coordinated with a deputy prime minister for organized crime, who is supposedly wanted today, but in fact is not wanted. Now, there is no one who does not know that it is already known that there are 50,000 empty apartments in Tirana.
But they also say, this extraordinary success produces that these are built and not sold. But who buys three, four, five thousand euros per square meter in the towers? Who does this? Young couples don't have the opportunity. But not everyone, even someone who has money says, wait a second, it's not a joke. Three, four, 5,000 euros per square meter, you invest for a 100 square meter apartment, you spend half a million euros in the middle of Tirana, in fact it's the middle of Paris. As much as we may like this, it's not the same. Then, there are people who say this, that at the entrances of these towers you also find special security guards. Why? They tell you the reason why. There are apartments there that are dinged with euros, with euros of drugs. They are guarded so that no one goes there. Now, these are SPAK's jobs. This is what people say, what is happening. But why is this only in Tirana? No, it's not only in Tirana. This is wherever interests can come into play.
For example, when I was a high school student, the Durrës stadium was at the end of the city. Today it is no longer at the end, it is somewhere, it is still not such a coveted area. They have decided to destroy the Durrës stadium, because they will take it to build five towers with up to 50 or so floors. And if you ask, there is a fixed expression from Falcone, Follow the money and you will find the mafia there too. But, since they apparently did not agree on the percentages, that the interest in buying towers in that area of ??Durrës to live, it is not an elite area, it is. The procedure has been canceled again, the procedure to reopen has been canceled, see when the percentage that the state benefits from this contract drops, "- said Bylykbashi. /CNA
