Ibrahimaj: Market monitoring for 18 basket products, price increase for fruits

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, stated today after the government meeting that a daily monitoring in the markets has noticed an increase in fruit and vegetable prices.

In her speech, Ibrahimaj emphasized that this category has undergone a fluctuation since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East, among 18 products that have been taken under monitoring.

According to the minister, the government will ensure that the war will not affect the prices of everyday products for citizens.

"We monitor prices every day and we are increasing them on a daily basis. In recent days, we have seen an increase in the prices of fruits and vegetables, which have been reflected in the food basket. This category has increased. Since the beginning of the crisis, we have monitored 18 products of the basket in the markets and an increase is reflected. While other food categories have not increased. We also saw in the war with Ukraine that fuel and energy costs led to an increase in the prices of the basket. The war is not in the hands of Albania to stop it. We are here to guarantee that the war will not affect the daily prices", - said Ibrahimaj./CNA
