Adriatik Tafçiu, ranked first in the evaluation process for the leadership of local directorates of the State Police, with 86 points is expected to take over the leadership of the Tirana police.

Tafçiu has nearly three decades of experience in police structures and in the field of criminal investigation.

His career in the State Police began in 1997 in Dibër, where he held several important positions, from Criminal Police Inspector to the direction of specialized structures against narcotics, anti-terrorism and organized crime.

Over the following years, he held leadership positions in several regions of the country, including Dibra, Kukës, Lezha, Berat, Korça, and Gjirokastra.

His professional experience includes positions as deputy director of police in Kukës, Lezha and Gjirokastër, chief of police stations in Berat, Skrapar and Kuçovë, as well as head of the sectors against serious crimes and terrorist acts.

In addition to his operational career, Tafçiu has also contributed to the academic field. He served as a lecturer and then lecturer at the Security Academy, where he developed courses related to criminal investigation, criminal procedure, terrorism and organized crime. He currently holds the position of Head of the Continuing Education Department at the Faculty of Security and Investigation.

In terms of education, he graduated from the Police Academy with maximum results and then completed his studies in law, receiving two Master of Science degrees, in Civil Law and Criminal Law. He is also licensed as a lawyer.

During his career, he has attended dozens of professional training courses organized by international partners and specialized organizations in the field of security, criminal investigation and the fight against terrorism.

Tafçiu is also the author of several professional articles and co-author of academic literature for students of the Security Academy, with a focus on organized crime, terrorism, and investigative procedures.

With 86 points in the last evaluation process, he was the most highly rated candidate by the commission established to select new police leaders./ CNA
