"The Prime Minister is not an influencer"/ Topalli-Peleshit: Why

Former Speaker of Parliament Jozefina Topalli, during her speech at the session, apologized to the Speaker of the Assembly Niko Peleshi for the absence of Prime Minister Edi Rama at an important session where the draft resolution "On the process of membership of the Republic of Albania in the European Union" will be presented.

Topalli stated that the prime minister is not an influencer and the existence of power is not measured by how long he speaks on television.

The MP demanded an answer from Peleshi as to why Rama did not go to parliament, in an interpellation.

"If you look at the parliament archive, you will find that the prime ministers of Albania have been in the chair that belongs to the prime minister to sign interpellations to maintain the standard of democracy. The prime minister is not an influencer.

"The existence of power is not measured by how long the prime minister speaks on television. We demand an answer from the speaker of parliament why the prime minister does not come, why he does not come when there is a motion, why he does not come when there is an interpellation, for a motion that is the main pillar of his campaign," said Topalli./ CNA
