The Chairman of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, stated today in his speech in the Assembly that the resolution on the European integration process was approved with full consensus in the Committee on Europe and Foreign Affairs, after five hours of discussions between the majority and the opposition.
According to Balla, the agreed document is among the best ever approved by the parliamentary committee.
He explained that the debate in the Assembly is directly related to Article 103/1 of the Rules of Procedure, which provides that a resolution be adopted at the end of the debate.
For this reason, Balla requested that the committee document be presented first and then the parliamentary debate continue.
The leader of the socialist group also publicly thanked the opposition representatives for their cooperation during the discussions.
Finally, Balla appealed that the consensus reached in the committee not be broken during the plenary session.
"Today's day of our work has started with positive news from the Committee for Europe and Foreign Affairs, where all together, without a single vote against, without a single abstention, all in favor, we have approved a document, which is a very good document. Among the best that I think this committee has ever approved and consequently, after five hours of debates and sessions, it also includes criticism, it also includes commitment, it also includes an objective eye, but above all it has the guiding star of our common Albania, which is membership in the European Union.
And consequently, a very correct reaction, but this motion for debate today is entirely related to Article 103/1, which states that at the end of the debate, a resolution is adopted.
And as a result, we are forced, at the end of five hours of debate, to adopt the resolution, which, as I said, was passed by consensus.
And I think, Mr. Speaker, it would be in the best interest of the process to listen to the resolution and then open the debate, where of course after the presentation of the resolution a voice from the opposition should come to say... And here I take the opportunity to thank the members of the committee, but above all, I would like to thank, without anyone wanting to call it a diversion, but I would like to thank Mr. Haxhinasto and Mrs. Vokshi from the opposition. I would like to thank Mrs. Kuko and Mr. Malaj from the majority, without any doubt
the chairman of the committee and Mr. Shehu as well, Mr. Dule, everyone. I'm sorry if I didn't mention anyone's name, but to be honest, these 48 hours have been 48 hours of really intensive work. And the staff, because the staff have also done a very good job. So let's not ruin the good work of the committee and let's move forward with the discussion. Let's listen once to what the product of the committee's work is, from both of them, from Mr. Hasani as chairman, and then the speech of Mrs. Vokshi as vice-chairman", said Balla./ CNA
