Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi indicated today that the opening of Jet Bank, the first digital bank in Albania, has been in the government's plans for about 6 years.

 Invited to the morning show on 'Syri TV', Këlliçi stressed that this step undermines the country's banking system.

According to Këlliç, among other things, the approval for the opening of Jet Bank also jeopardizes the situation before the EU, as it is closely linked to the group chapters for economic integration into the European market.

"I started researching around December and in January I officially addressed the Bank of Albania with a letter from the Albanian Parliament. Politically, this had been circulating informally in Tirana for about a year. As the leader of the Democrat Party, Sali Berisha, said, for about 6 years now, Prime Minister Edi Rama has been trying to open the first digital bank in Albania. I am not against digitalization and development, but I am against the capture of our banking system, the exposure of our banking system to people with zero experience or even great risks. Especially, since we have opened two of the group chapters, 1 and 2, which are also related to the internal market and it must be understood that the moment Albania will integrate into the European Union, every institution becomes part of the EU market, including banks", declared Këlliçi. /CNA
