Focus on the negotiation process/ Minister Hoxha meets with Commissioner Kos

Today, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha, met in Brussels with the Commissioner for Enlargement of the European Union, Marta Kos.

Minister Hoxha said that the focus was on the advanced process of membership negotiations, with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining the current momentum and moving forward with consistency on this path.

The Foreign Minister added that the meeting discussed the implementation of the Reform Agenda within the framework of the Growth Plan. The meeting also emphasized the importance of clear communication on the benefits and responsibilities of enlargement, with the aim of increasing public support and promoting transparency.

As always, it is a special pleasure to have a substantive exchange with the Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, our Commissioner.

Building on an advanced and dynamic negotiation process for Albania, we emphasized the importance of maintaining the current momentum and moving forward with consistency and focus.

It has been said many times, but it remains essential: a credible and merit-based enlargement process requires timely decisions that preserve trust and keep the process predictable, effective and future-oriented. Albania's choice is clear: its path towards the EU is built on strong commitments, sustainable reforms and concrete results.

We also discussed the implementation of the Reform Agenda within the framework of the #GrowthPlan, which, in the case of Albania, complements the EU accession process and brings tangible benefits to citizens.

Continued harmonization with EU standards, strengthening the rule of law and an independent and professional judiciary, as well as sustainable progress in all negotiation chapters remain our daily priorities.

We underlined the key role of clear and consistent communication, both on the benefits and responsibilities of enlargement, essential for increasing public support and promoting transparency and inclusiveness.
