Prime Minister Edi Rama was asked at today's press conference whether he would resign following the investigations launched against the Albanian Anti-Corruption Commission (AKSHI).
Rama responded that he has no reason to resign for the sake of the AKSHI since the AKSHI is an institution of pride for the government.
The Prime Minister said that the AKSH has saved Albanians 620 billion lek as well as a lot of time waiting in line. Rama, making a joke, said that the AKSH has saved 7,600 years of waiting in line, which is 25,000 rotations around the Earth.
Thanks to AKSHI, Rama said, 3.4 million Albanians are users of the e-Albania platform.
Further, in his speech, Rama said that he will come up with version 2.0 of e-Albania and this only thanks to AKSHI.
" You have seen the reactions of others when they are touched by what they say. But you will not hear from me any insults or accusations that go into the format of pressure and intimidation of these bodies. This is an inevitable process towards consolidation. Why should I resign? For AKSHI? AKSHI is an institution of pride for us, so that we can be very clear together, not to lower our heads. It is an institution to be proud of because we were here when you had to go and wait in line to get all kinds of papers and when those who were outside had to come here. AKSHI has saved 620 billion lek for Albanians, thanks to digitalization, this is an international study.
AKSHI has saved 7600 years of waiting in line, that's 25 thousand rotations around the earth. Imagine Albanians going around the earth 25 thousand times. Thanks to that AKSHI, 3.4 million Albanians are users of the e-Albania platform.
"One of the reasons why we are so quickly breaking away from the EU is AKSHI. The AKSHI team has a number of competitions won within NATO and within the EU. We will come out with e-Albania 2.0. And this will only be possible thanks to AKSHI ," Rama said.
