Career diplomat Roland Bimo stated today that Albania-Kosovo cooperation is very important for the future of security in Europe.

Invited to A2 CNN, Bimo said that security is taking other forms and NATO is being resized by the great powers.

"What I am saying, that NATO should not exist, is not my invention. If you look at what Mr. Trump says about NATO, and what America says about NATO, it is an issue that Europeans will have to defend Europe. So it is very likely that within four or five years, security in Europe will be of a more continental character. I am not trying to say what should be done, but I am trying to emphasize the necessity of a dialogue, a debate on these problems that must be done together by Kosovo and Albania. And we do not have the luxury of the whims of one or the other, whether it is Albin Kurti or Edi Rama, so that the Albanian people do not have cooperation. The Albanian people really need their leaders to gather from time to time and for us to see how we talk to each other, how they exchange opinions with each other and how they exchange information.
