End-of-year conference/ Rama: Social housing reform is being prepared, aiming to

Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the traditional end-of-year conference with journalists, spoke about social housing reform and debt reduction.

Rama said that the government is preparing a social housing reform, which aims to increase the number of beneficiaries of this housing.

The Prime Minister stated that this reform also aims to increase the number of beneficiaries of what is called affordable housing.

The Prime Minister also focused on debt, which he said will decrease this year, while Albania's credit ratings are positive.

In his speech, Rama also touched on the initiative to reduce cash payments in the country, announcing that by 2026, all businesses must offer the option of paying by card.

 

" We are preparing the social housing reform to open a whole new era and to significantly increase the beneficiaries of social housing and what is called affordable housing."

And this year we have a reduction in debt while Albania's credit ratings are positive and have resulted in growth this year. Good governance and growth have brought 628 billion lek in state revenues. Several new policies have been approved, such as fiscal peace and the draft law on arrears.

"In the need to reduce cash, some limits have been set as a start. Within the next year, every business in Albania must guarantee an alternative form of payment, so that everyone has the opportunity to pay by card or other alternative forms ," ??Rama said./CNA
