The Vice President of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, accused today that the burning of waste in the Bushati landfill has caused an environmental disaster.

Through a statement to the media, Boçi stated that this problem is not accidental, but comes as a result of corruption and mismanagement in the municipality of the area.

According to Boçi, this landfill poses a serious ecological risk to the area of ??Shkodra, Lezha and Vau i Dejës.

"The fires continue, although the weather has been rainy, the rain has had almost no effect. We are facing an environmental disaster with catastrophic consequences for both human health and the environment. And all this is no coincidence, it is not due to high temperatures, it is not a coincidence that arson occurred out of ignorance, it is a consequence of corruption, of mismanagement by the Municipality of Vau i Dejës. I say this because there is a structure that has all the responsibility for managing this, which starts with the administrator, which starts with the supervisory council, which starts and continues with the part of the Joint Stock Company that has the task and which is headed by the mayor of the Municipality of Vau i Dejës, who determines the entire chain of responsibility that deals with the management of the Bushati landfill. Of course, it is related to the operators, but the mismanagement that comes from these structures that depend on the Municipality of Vau i Dejës has brought about this catastrophic situation and which is actually an ecological bomb for the area. But, as it is a bomb ecological, it is a gold mine, the benefits of those who have mismanaged and mismanage it for profit purposes.
