Berisha from Zagreb: Albania's problems, from drug clans to decision-making

The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, shared a statement from Zagreb, where he is today as part of the IDU 2026 Forum, which brings together right-wing leaders from around the world in the Croatian capital.

In his speech, Berisha stated that this participation comes as a way to present the country's problems, which according to him are mainly related to security and integration.

The chief democrat stressed that Albanian drug clans also pose a concern, as they are a serious danger and threat to Albania and beyond.

"We come here to this world forum to present the major problems of Albania and the region from our perspective, to debate and discuss these problems with our allies. Major problems related to security in the region, major problems related to the process of Albania's integration into the European Union, the very serious obstacles that Edi Rama, with the extension of Albania into an electoral autocracy or authoritarian dictatorship, has made and is making to the integration process, with the construction of the first and only narco-state in Europe, the destruction or serious damage to the Albanian economy due to the dramatic devaluation of the euro and the dollar, the very serious blow to exports, industrial production, agricultural production. So, in addition to the fact that it is known that the drug clans are today the main and most important decision-makers, but as recent discoveries have proven, they managed to control the entire Internet of Albania with all the data of Albanians. So, in this aspect, they constitute a serious risk and threat to the security not only of Albania, but also of the region and more wide", said Berisha. /CNA
