Mazniku: The 2014 Administrative-Territorial Reform, a very bold step

The Co-Chair of the Administrative-Territorial Reform Commission, Arbjan Mazniku, was present this Tuesday at the next public hearing in Elbasan.

Mazniku praised the 2014 reform, which according to him has brought a series of useful values ??to the country's administrative units.

The socialist added that one of the most positive results from that reform was the reduction in spending and the increase in services for citizens.

"In 2014, a very bold step was taken, where mini-municipalities and mini-communes that could not provide the functions they should offer to their citizens, we went from 373 fragmented units to a system with 61 municipalities, which today have a real and tangible weight in the lives of citizens. This has been a very useful step forward. The expenses that municipalities have for salaries have decreased, while investments have increased, functions have been added and services to citizens have increased. In our analysis, the 2014 reform has brought a series of useful values", said Mazniku. /CNA
