LuteCredit, microcredit with a marketing budget of 8.2 million euros per year

The microcredit scheme in Albania has turned into a stinking quagmire, luring victims into the spiral of predatory loans and then using the money earned to lure even more victims or silence regulators. Consider just one fact.

Last year, IuteCredit Albania declared in its official balance sheet 8.2 million euros in advertising expenses as well as marketing and consulting. According to the financial statements, the company has respectively declared 1 million euros as publicity and advertising expenses and another 7.2 million euros as marketing and consulting expenses.

Of course a business is free to spend its money as it pleases. But this is a huge financial anomaly. To have an idea of ??what this means, just one fact is enough.

Vodafone and One Albania have an annual marketing budget ranging from 1.5 to 3 million euros per year. IuteCredit claims marketing and advertising expenses nearly 3 times higher than mobile companies and 4 times its stated profit. The question is, can this be a microcredit?

Micro misery

The normal concept of microloans is that of non-bank financial companies that provide loans to the strata that do not have access or the necessary guarantees to obtain financing from banks. All over the world, the vast majority of microcredit schemes have a social character, to help the most marginalized sections of society to create businesses and employment.

Once the loan is repaid it is circulated to finance another entity and so on to lift as many people out of poverty as possible. Therefore, most of them work in rural communities or urban ghettos.

Argumenti fals i tregut të lirë

Nën mbulesën e mikrokreditit në Shqipëri është krijuar një skemë e mirëfilltë zhvatje që funksionin si fajde e legalizuar me ligj, e cila ngarkon interesa deri në 120 për qind mbi kreditë që jep për qytetarët. Dhe ata që bien pre e tyre, janë shtresat më vulnerabël të shoqërisë apo njerëzit që nuk kanë njohuri financiare.

Përballe presioneve të forta nga shoqëria për t’u dhënë fund këtyre skemave, argumenti kryesor i avokatëve të grabiqarëve financiarë është ai i tregut të lirë. Përderisa për një shërbim të tillë ka kërkesë dhe çdo gjë zhvillohet brenda ligjeve, atëherë pse duhen të mbyllen këto skema. Ky në fakt edhe është argumenti që përdor Banka e Shqipërisë për të justifikuar mosndërhyrjen e saj kompromentuese.

Por pyetja është shumë e thjeshtë. Treg të lirë ka dhe për fajde. Përderisa ka njerëz apo biznese që shkojnë marrin para me fajde tek bandat apo kriminelët, kjo do të thotë se ekziston kërkesa edhe për këtë produkt. Atëherë a duhen legalizuar fajdetë e bandave?

Buxheti i joshjes apo…?

Për çfarë i një kompani mikrokredie 8.2 milionë euro në vit për reklama dhe konsulencë? Dy janë opsionet e përgjigjes së kësaj pyetje.
