This was our revolution. We asked the dictator for permission to have democracy. And he allowed us.
A bunch of communists and former security officers were put at the head of the "new party". He changed the name of his old party 6 months later and made it "modern of the European type".
And from that day on, we play democracy every four years.
Stories about "revolution" and "fighting the bloody beast" are a fart with oregano.
The dictatorship had failed, it had fallen. They had no bread. Ramiz and his men were afraid of suffering like Ceausescu. They were afraid of surrendering. So they controlled the change of the system themselves, maintaining political and economic power.
Revolution means that the ALP would be dissolved, outlawed, and its assets seized. The ALP also won the first "democratic" elections.
