A 62-year-old man from Germany, against medical advice, has been vaccinated 217 times against Covid, doctors report. The strange case is documented in the journal "The Lancet Infectious Diseases".

The man appears to have suffered no ill effects, say researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg after multiple vaccinations. 

Covid vaccines cannot cause infection, but can teach the body how to fight the disease, the BBC reports. 

 "We were able to take the blood samples ourselves when the man received a further vaccination during the study at his insistence. We were able to use these samples to determine exactly how the immune system responds to the vaccination," he said. doctor Kilian Schobe./ CNA
