Trump: US may be better off without Iran deal

US President Donald Trump said his country could be in a better position if a deal with Iran to end the conflict is not reached. He stressed that he is not satisfied with the latest proposal presented by the Iranian side.

During his remarks, Trump also criticized a law that limits the use of military force without congressional approval, calling it “totally unconstitutional.” However, in a letter to congressional leaders, he argued that “hostilities” with Iran are over.

At a public event in Florida, the US president went further, calling the claim that the US is not winning the war "treason", defending his administration's approach to the conflict.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced that about 5,000 US troops would be withdrawn from Germany. The decision comes after Chancellor Friedrich Merz publicly criticized the war.

Tensions remain high in the region. The Israeli military warned residents in southern Lebanon to evacuate due to a fragile ceasefire, while casualties were reported from recent airstrikes.

The situation remains unstable, while diplomatic efforts for a final resolution to the conflict have not yet yielded concrete results./ CNA
