From campaign duration to budget/ CEC approves plan for early elections in

The Central Election Commission in Kosovo has begun preparations for the early elections to be held on June 7.

At today's meeting chaired by Chief Commissioner Kreshnik Radoniçi, the CEC made several decisions as part of the start of preparations for organizing the elections.

The CEC made the decision to set the deadlines and approved the plan of activities for organizing the elections.

The budget plan for organizing the elections was also approved, amounting to 10,887,186,445 euros.

Plan of activities approved by the CEC:

- The declaration of political parties for participation or non-participation in the elections and for the formation of coalitions takes place from May 1-7.

- The declaration of political parties to form coalitions takes place from May 1-7.

- The application period for certification of new political entities (political parties, civic initiatives, coalitions and independent candidates) runs from May 2-10.

- The approval or rejection by the CEC of the certification of candidates of political entities takes place from May 5-15.

- The election campaign period for political entities, candidates and their supporters will last 10 days and 7 hours, specifically from May 28 to June 7, 06:59.

- The deadline for application and registration of voters outside Kosovo will be from May 6-17.

- The postal voting period will last 13 days, specifically from May 25th to June 6th.

- Voting day at diplomatic missions will be on June 6, from 07:00-19:00.

The CEC has also set deadlines for the registration of voters with special needs, the accreditation of observers, and the appointment of municipal election commissions and polling station councils during the month of May. /CNA
