Trump attends emergency meeting of US military leadership

US President Donald Trump will attend a meeting between the country's Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, and hundreds of American generals and admirals in the state of Virginia.

This was reported today by The Washington Post newspaper, referring to the received document.

"We have received confirmation from the White House that the US President will participate in Tuesday's speech," the statement said regarding the planned meeting.

The meeting will be held on September 30. The American leader's participation will require additional security measures.

Earlier, on September 27, Trump directed Hegseth to provide troops to protect Portland from the Antifa movement. The US leader added that he authorizes the use of full force if necessary. /CNA
