Shooting incident/ Trump: It wouldn't have happened if the White House

US President Donald Trump has reacted to the shootings recorded at the Washington Correspondents' Association dinner at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue.

He states in his post on Truth Social that if the White House Ballroom had been built, this event would not have happened.

Trump further says that the hall has high security standards and will not allow uncontrolled entry. According to him, the hall is a necessary structure for the security of presidential institutions. Among other things, he has described as ridiculous a woman's lawsuit against the construction of the hall.

“What happened last night is exactly why the military and every president for the last 150 years have DEMANDED a large, secure, and protected ballroom to be built on the grounds of the White House. This event would never have happened with the top-secret ballroom currently under construction at the White House. It can’t be built fast enough! While it is beautiful, it has all the highest level security features available, plus, there are no rooms above for people to enter, and it is inside the gates of the most secure building in the World, the White House.

"The ridiculous lawsuit over the ballroom, filed by a woman walking her dog, who has absolutely no right to file such a lawsuit, must be dismissed immediately. Nothing should be allowed to interfere with its construction, which is on budget and well ahead of schedule!!! ," Trump's post on Truth Social read. /CNA
