SEPA transactions begin/ Gonzato: EU financially supports the reform, everyone

Starting today, banking and payment institutions in Albania will carry out the first SEPA transactions.

Present at the conference with the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, the EU Ambassador to Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, said that this will bring convenience for Albanian citizens, but also for tourists or commercial transactions.

Gonzato said that legal changes need to be made and the reform will be supported by the EU financially.

"Today is a very important day because citizens are equal. There will be concrete results and this shows that the EU keeps its promises."

Albanian citizens will save time and money with deliveries, but tourists will also feel at home.

Trade from and to Albania will improve.

This requires changes in the legal system, the EU financially supports this reform.

"Not just a minority should benefit, but all categories. Convergence with EU laws and a narrower market are needed, so greater efforts are needed for EU integration. After this, the EU will generate additional funds," Gonzato declared./ CNA
