Solar energy, three new applications in the Ministry of Energy for an installed

Applications for the construction of photovoltaic plants seem to be unstoppable. This time, three new requests have been submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy by entities interested in building solar power plants with a total capacity of 105.6 MW. There are at least three entities that have made these applications.

The first company, "GREEN VOLT" sh.pk, has expressed interest and submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy an application for the construction of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 70 MW, for the production of electricity from renewable sources, which is not subject to concession and does not benefit from support measures, located in the Municipality of Memaliaj.

The second company, "ARMEN SOLAR" sh.pk, has expressed interest in building a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 30 MW, for the production of electricity from renewable sources, located in the Armen Administrative Unit, Selenice Municipality, Vlora District.

The third company, "GREEN ENERGY GROUP" sh.pk, has expressed interest and submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy an application for the construction of a photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 5.6 MW located in the village of Pjetroshan, Malësi e Madhe Municipality, Shkodër District.

Just a few days ago, another request was submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for the construction of a photovoltaic park with a capacity of 603 MW in the Tropoja area, one of the projects with the highest capacity that has shown interest so far and which has also received strategic investor status.

Demands to invest in renewable energy, and especially in photovoltaics, have increased in recent years, driven by government diversification policies, the energy crisis, and legal changes related to the sector. Despite this dynamic, the number of plants put into production remains limited. However, the share of producers other than hydro is increasing year by year.

Official energy balance data for the second quarter of this year published by INSTAT show that the "other producers" group, which includes photovoltaics, produced 288 GWh from 125 GWh produced in the same period a year earlier, marking a 2.3-fold increase in electricity production./ Monitor.
